Wood Window Screens
Our retractable wood window screens can be stained to match any wood finish, thereby allowing them to blend perfectly with your custom wood windows.
Color Options
The whole point of a retractable wood window screen is that you barely notice it. To pull that off, the casing has to match what’s already on your window trim. We offer seven wood veneer options so the housing disappears into the woodwork around it.
One thing to keep in mind: the swatches you see on a screen don’t always match what shows up in person. Lighting, monitor calibration, the wood your trim is already finished in — all of it matters. If you’re stuck between two options, ask us to bring real samples on the in-home visit.

Stain It Yourself
The casing and slidebar both come ready to stain. So if your existing window trim is finished in some specific color you’ve been using throughout the house, you can match it exactly. We’ve had Tampa homeowners do this with custom-stained craftsman trim, dark walnut libraries, even whitewashed coastal interiors out near Clearwater. The wood takes stain the way any other interior trim would.
Mesh Options
For wood window screens, we use BetterVue insect mesh. It keeps the bugs out — including the small stuff that gives Florida homeowners trouble like no-see-ums and gnats — while staying clear enough that you forget the screen is there. Which is sort of the whole point when your view is what you’re paying for.
BetterVue
BetterVue is the standard mesh on our wood window screens. Visibility is noticeably better than older fiberglass screens — you get a clear view out, plus a bit of UV blocking to help with afternoon sun on west-facing windows.
